Project Overview
The NC Shibata Kawasaki Imashuku Power Station is a 1.988 MW / 8.146 MWh grid-scale battery energy storage system located in Kawasaki Town, Shibata District, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Developed and operated by Nippon Chikudenchi Co., Ltd. (Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd.), the facility began receiving grid power on February 13, 2026. Equipped with CATL battery storage systems and TMEIC power conversion equipment, the project participates in Japan’s wholesale electricity market (JEPX), balancing market and capacity market while supporting renewable energy integration and local grid resilience.
