Just Unveiled!BYD Energy Storage Launches Its Station-Level GC Block, Enabling a 1 GWh Storage Plant with 100 Units BYD Energy Storage's solution launch today. The centrepiece was its GW-Scale Energy Storage System Solution 2.0, alongside several new products, including the 1,980 Ah energy storage Blade Battery, GC Plus PCS 2.0, GC Master EMS 2.0 and GC-BOX. Here are some of the key figures announced at the event: 🔋1,980 Ah Energy Storage Blade Battery Designed for energy storage applications with durations of two hours or longer. BYD also stated that its dedicated cell for eight-hour energy storage applications entered mass production earlier this year. ⚡GC Plus PCS 2.0 Delivers up to 10 MW of power with a conversion efficiency exceeding 99.5%. It offers 3× overload capability for 10 seconds and covers rated power capacities from 1.25 MW to 15.6 MW. 🧠 GC Master EMS 2.0 Developed for the centralized management of GW-scale energy storage plants. By integrating AI forecasting and knowledge graph technologies, the system achieves a claimed forecasting accuracy of over 98.5% and regulation accuracy of 0.06%. 🏗️ System-level changes in the GW-scale Solution 2.0 Compared with conventional GW-scale configurations requiring more than 3 million cells, BYD's new solution reduces the number to fewer than 1 million, while also cutting the use of supporting components and cables. According to BYD, the number of battery units required can be reduced by 37.5%, with a 1 GWh storage plant configured using approximately 100 units. 📊 The performance improvements announced at the event include: ▪️ 2.7% improvement in overall system efficiency ▪️ 3.1% increase in lifetime discharge volume ▪️ More than 5.5% reduction in levelized electricity cost over the full lifecycle The solution supports black start and off-grid operation and is compatible with centralized and string-based architectures. Applications include independent storage, renewable energy integration, computing-energy coordination, zero-carbon parks and flash-charging infrastructure. Designed for demanding environments, it operates from −35°C to 55°C and at altitudes of up to 5,100 metres without derating. Overall, the launch represents a system-level upgrade across the battery cell, PCS, EMS and system integration. #BYDEnergyStorage #BYD #EnergyStorage #BESS #BatteryStorage #BladeBattery #PCS #EMS #UtilityScaleStorage #ENERGYPLANET
