FOX ESS

Fox ESS was founded in 2019 and is a global provider of smart renewable energy solutions, with a core focus on solar inverters, battery energy storage systems and integrated energy technologies. Headquartered in Wenzhou, China, the company serves residential, commercial and industrial, and increasingly utility-scale applications. Its product portfolio includes PV inverters, hybrid inverters, battery storage systems, C&I energy storage solutions, EV chargers, heat pumps and the FoxCloud energy management platform. Fox ESS has expanded rapidly in international markets, with operations across more than 90 countries and regions. The company employs more than 5,000 people globally and operates multiple R&D centres, including major facilities in Wuxi, Shanghai and Wuhan. Its Wuxi R&D centre focuses on inverter and energy storage technology development, supported by teams of engineers and technical specialists. In manufacturing, Fox ESS has continued to expand its production capacity in Wenzhou. In 2023, the company announced a new 330,000-square-metre production base with planned annual capacity of around one million units. By that stage, Fox ESS reported inverter production capacity of 530,000 units and energy storage production capacity of 1.8 GWh. The company has since continued expanding its manufacturing footprint and product portfolio. Fox ESS has also broadened its business beyond residential solar and storage. In 2024 it launched commercial and industrial energy storage products and its first microinverter, while in 2025 it introduced utility-scale ESS products and signed its first utility-scale storage project in Europe. Its current portfolio spans residential batteries, all-in-one storage systems, C&I storage, utility-scale storage, EV charging and heat pumps. According to Fox ESS, the company had installed more than 2 million batteries and 1.5 million inverters globally over the previous three years, alongside more than 120,000 EV chargers. Fox ESS also states that it ranked No. 1 globally in residential energy storage market share in 2025, citing S&P Global Energy.
